WHEN YOU ARE IN PAIN, IS IT TOO LATE????

The image “http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2150/2243554264_e1627eb600.jpg?v=0” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Have you ever been driving in your car and the oil light comes on? What did you do? Most people would pull over and check the oil and then add oil to prevent expensive engine damage. Well, pain is your body’s oil light. It is a warning from our brain that something isn’t right in our body. You see, pain is an indication that there may be a larger underlying problem with our health. So, what should you do if your body’s oil light comes on? Take a pill ? Or, check under the hood, so to speak. Getting health problems diagnosed and corrected early is what we, as your Chiropractors does best. What may seem like a small problem today may be a big problem tomorrow. Let’s prevent your body from breaking down.

CHIROPRACTIC AND PREGNANCY

The image “http://www.harrowchiro.com/images/pregnancy.jpg” cannot be displayed, because it contains errors.Chiropractic physicians have an important role in prenatal care and can work effectively with obstetricians and other caregivers during pregnancy. Chiropractic physicians possess the patient rapport, training, and diagnostic and treatment techniques required to provide effective care from the prenatal period through postpartum recovery. At present, chiropractic is one of the only health-care professions capable of managing whole family health care without the use of dangerous drugs or surgery. In cases such as pregnancy when drugs often are contraindicated, chiropractic is an ideal choice of care to ensure the health of both mother and baby.

With the encroachment of managed care, and with the public seeking more types of alternative care, doctors of chiropractic are in a perfect position to reach out to women and to become more involved in prenatal care. By encouraging regular chiropractic care and maternal self care (which includes good nutrition, regular stretching and exercise, and stress management), we can improve our patient’s probability of a successful delivery. Our value as a care giver is only enhanced by being a participant in our patient’s childbirth education and offering advice on healthcare providers.

Chiropractic Effective In Pregnancy-Related Low Back Pain

Many expecting mothers are well aware of the toll pregnancy has on their lower backs. The rapid weight gain and resulting postural changes often wreaks havoc on structures of the low back resulting in one of the most common symptoms of pregnancy, lower back pain (LBP). Like many sources of LBP, chiropractic care has been demonstrated to be an effective treatment, even for expecting mothers. In a recent review of published research evaluating chiropractic care, including spinal manipulation, for pregnancy-related LBP, researchers found that all studies reported positive results for chiropractic care of LBP during pregnancy. While there aren’t a large number of studies to draw from and more elaborate studies are needed, those currently conducted have shown chiropractic care to be beneficial and safe for pregnancy-related LBP. This “inevitable” pain or discomfort is frequently resolved through chiropractic with gentle soft tissue release of specific muscles and fascia in the diaphragm of the pelvic floor and chiropractic adjustment of the dysfunctional motion of the sacroiliac joints and pubic symphysis as well as the lumbosacral junction. These joints are under particular strain secondary to the forward shift in the center of gravity, the increase in the lumbar lordosis, and external rotation of the legs to maintain delicate balance.
